I composed this rendering using V-Ray. The corner of H Street and East 1st Street was originally slated to house a sunken indoor transformer. In a response to 100 year flood conditions and City of Boston sea level rise predictions this was required to be relocated to the outdoor yard on East 2nd Street. The City of Boston BPDA applauded the addition of some retail activity at that corner, activating the street condition with its presence.
2 H Street, the official address of the lot, picture here in another V-Ray composition. The renderings were intended to illustrate the use of materials, and the effect of setting back the uppermost level of the building.

THE WILD DUCK, 660 WASHINGTON STREET, CHINATOWN BOSTON,

3,600 SQFT commercial Space

Designed a playful commercial space for a wine and spirits retailer of about 3300 SF in Boston’s Chinatown, “The Wild Duck Wine and Spirits”, Equity Properties, Owner phase: completed

building leasing agency had to approve the design idea so what would normally be spread over several drawings were consolidated into a single page.
to bring some of the space to human scale, columns were wrapped and cloud ceiling would cover a small area that would be used for wine-tasting. students appear puzzled at some of the design decisions. Finish to 2′ below the ceiling elevation were painted black to fade into background in an intimidating 16′ height floor to floor height.
